Library Writer's Club
RHCL is pleased to report quality, varied programs and good turnout at our writing events. Since November 2012, we've been informed by experts on writing, researching, publishing, and marketing.
The plan is to continue this support to local writing enthusiasts with programs throughout 2013, all running from 6-8 p.m. in the Community Room at the Belt Branch:
Tuesday, June 11: No formal presentation or speaker planned, so bring some samples of your work to share. If time and/or interest allows, we will complete a writing activity together.
Tuesday, July 9: Northwest Missouri State University professor and author Jason Offutt will share his experiences researching, writing and publishing several books about reports of the paranormal in Missouri.
Tuesday, August 13: Emporia State instructor Joyce Clark will return to lead a three-session workshop on outlining a story. This presentation will pertain to short and novel-length stories. August's meeting is Session 1: Outlining your story.
Tuesday, September 10: Session 2: Outlining your story.
Tuesday, October 8: Session 3: Outlining your story.
Tuesdays, November 5, 12, 19, and 26: Weekly "Come Write In" events to support those participating in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). NaNoWriMo is a challenge to writers to turn off the internal editor and just get 50,000 words written in a month!. More info at http://www.nanowrimo.org.
Hope to see you at our upcoming writing events!
